First Two Weeks ?!?!?
By: Elias Randall

Everyone knows that the NBA is in a lockout. Well, if you didn’t know well know you do. Much like the NFL the NBA is in a lockout because the owners and players both want more money. Which is pretty much impossible. Thus, we are in this predicament now. But earlier they NBA announced that the first two weeks of NBA games would be canceled.

To most its not that big of a deal right??? Wrong!!! Basketball is not like any other sports. It has 18 weeks in the season and the have a total of  82 games. So that’s a lot of games their missing in those first couple of weeks. Most of them being home games. Carmello Anthony (the all star small forward for the New York Knicks) say “I really don’t want to miss any games. All those home games taken away has a big affect on a player and a fan”.

Don’t Worry Phil’s Get Em Next Year

The Phillies are one the MLB’s elite teams but this year I can’t imagine them winning the World Series. All of the heartbreaking losses in the regular seasons, the injuries of starters, and the overall lower morale of the players. Something seems different about this Phillies franchise. In my opinion they have seem to lost their winning mentality. I just don’t see much mental toughness in them anymore.

They used to be one of the most explosive teams in the MLB. For me which is saying a lot, because I’m not even a fan of baseball like that. Though I don’t like the sport I would watch the Phillies to watch them win. I wanted to see Ryan Howard hit a homerun, or Shane Victorino speed around the bases for a score. Now when you watch the Phils you just hope they win.

Maybe it’s just that father time caught up with some of the players on the Phillies. Maybe some of the players are getting old and can’t play like they used to. No matter what the reason is they need to fix themselves mentally and then improvements will happen physically. If the ever want another championship they need to make some major adjustments and fast.

John Wall MVP??

John Wall in my opinion is the best player in the NBA. He was last years first round draft pick and had the same expectations as Lebron. John had a shoe endorsement while was in HIGH SCHOOL. He was thought to be the next chosen one. And I think he is.

Last year Derrick Rose was the youngest MVP of all time. John Wall just about equal to Derrick Rose’s stats and John Wall was not a starter at first. So, now being a “sophomore” in the NBA, I think John can do big things for his Wizards team.

Last year John Wall lost by one vote to Blake Griffin to win the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. If John can stay healthy and consistent he good be one of the NBA’s elite in about two years. He is like Rajon Rondo type of player. Passes the ball to get assists and keep teammates happy. But he also explodes to basket with highflying dunks, which electrify the crowd home or away.

John will and can be the best in the league. I don’t know any one besides Lebron James starving more an NBA championship. Most rookies focused on just getting noticed but Wall came to win. He has a winning mentality. Much like Kobe Bryant when he was young, and we all know where Kobe ended. Will Wall live up to hype????

Restoring the Roar???

The Detroit Lions franchise has been known to be a joke. In 2008 they went 0-16 not winning one game. But now the Lions have had bits of winning surges. Last year they won more games ever in the teams history.

This year they have had an undefeated start beating many good teams like the Dallas Cowboys. They said they were going to be a better team but very few took them seriously. But so far they seem to be going according to plans.

Their receiver, Calvin Johnson say “ Were the best young team in the NFL,”. High expectations have been set for the Lions will they keep it up?????
